For a visitor staying in Sultanahmet, Laguna Spa Massage & Hamam is a hamam-and-massage venue at Çarşıkapı Cd No:1 in Beyazıt, one stop west of the Grand Bazaar area on the T1 tram. Its hours are unusually late: 12:00 to 03:00, seven days a week, so a full day of museums need not end the evening's plans. Google lists a 4.8 rating from 216 reviews. Beyond "hamam" and "massage", little is confirmed: there is no website, and prices, session lengths, separate men's and women's sections and booking rules are all unknown. Plan to ask these things by phone or in person before you commit.

Your first time here

The listing names a hamam and massage, nothing more. Whether there is a scrub-and-foam treatment, a pool, sauna or steam room, couples' rooms, or a historic building is not stated, so ask. Prices, session lengths and whether you need to reserve are also not stated. If you have never been to a hamam, ask on arrival how a session runs and what is included before you pay.

Fitting it into an Old City day

Beyazıt sits on the T1 line, between Laleli-Üniversite and Beyazıt-Kapalıçarşı on one side and Çemberlitaş and Sultanahmet on the other, so it is an easy ride from the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia area. Because doors open at noon, mornings are for mosques and museums. Come in the late afternoon or evening, and go after dinner if you like, since it stays open until 03:00.

What works well

  • Open daily until 03:00, which fits evenings after sightseeing
  • Central address in Beyazıt, on the T1 tram line and within the Historic Peninsula
  • Rated 4.8 on Google, a strong score for a venue with over 200 reviews

Worth knowing first

  • No website, so prices, treatments and booking terms are unconfirmed
  • Unknown whether men's and women's sections are separate or mixed
  • Turkish bath
  • Massage
