If your days around Sultanahmet are full of mosques and museums, this is a spa to keep in mind for the evening. It is part of the Ramada by Wyndham Istanbul Old City hotel in Fındıkzade, in Fatih, and it opens daily from 10:00 to 23:00. The menu is long: Swedish, Thai, Bali and hot stone massages, facials, foot rituals, and a set of hamam programmes from a 30-minute traditional bath to a 70-minute botanical ritual. It has a Google rating of 4.4 from 77 reviews. No prices are published, and the site only says an advance appointment is recommended.

What to expect on a first visit

The hamam list includes the Traditional Turkish Hamam (30 min), Ottoman Palace Hamam (50 min) and Botanical Hamam Ritual (70 min), so a first-timer can start with the shortest. Whether the scrub and foam are included in each package is not stated, so ask when you book. Pool and sauna are not confirmed, and the site does not say whether men and women use separate sections. Appointments are recommended, but whether they are required is unclear.

Fitting it into an Old City day

The spa is in Fındıkzade, Fatih, outside the main sightseeing core. The T1 tram has a Fındıkzade stop, and Sultanahmet is several stops along the same line via Aksaray, Beyazıt-Kapalıçarşı and Çemberlitaş. Since it is open 10:00 to 23:00 every day, the late afternoon or evening after the museums and mosques is the easiest slot. Allow extra time if you choose a 70-minute programme.
