Kagithane Spa, Hamam and Massage Guide

On this page 4 Hamam4 Day Spa3 Massage Studio1 Hotel Spa

Kagithane sits on the far side of the Golden Horn's northern valley, well outside the historic peninsula that most visitors come to Istanbul for. The district takes its name from the paper mills that once stood along the stream here, and in the early 18th century the Ottoman court laid out gardens and a palace in the valley, which Europeans knew as the Sweet Waters of Europe. Today it is mostly office towers, residential blocks and hotels. That is why its spa listings differ from those of Sultanahmet or Cemberlitas. The four places listed here are one hamam, Delta Spa Hamam, and three day-spa facilities in or attached to hotels: Zen SPA at Four Points by Sheraton, Miel Spa Kordon Istanbul and Healife Wellness Club - Kagithane. If you want a hamam with Ottoman-era architecture, look at the peninsula listings. Kagithane suits visitors staying in the business districts to the north who want a pool, sauna or massage close to their hotel. Check each venue's page for hours, services and any prices, which we record with the date they were noted.

12 spas and hamams in Kagithane that we reviewed and listed. 4 of them are traditional Turkish baths. Ranked by editor score; sponsored entries are clearly labelled and never affect the score. 8 of them sit just outside the area boundary and are shown with distance.

Google · Delta Spa Hamam
#1 Hamam

Delta Spa Hamam

★ 4.9(848reviews, Google) · 47/100 · Istanbul, Caglayan

If you are staying in Sultanahmet, Delta Spa Hamam is not on your doorstep: it is in the basement (level -3) of the Delta Hotels by Marriott Istanbul Haliç, in Kağıthane. The hamam comes with a pool, steam room, sauna and massage, all under one roof. Doors open at 12:00 and close at 22:00 every day of the week. Google lists a 4.9 rating from 848 reviews. Session lengths, prices, whether women and men are separated, and whether you must book ahead are not stated, so ask before you go.

Google · Lal Deniz Altuner
#2 Day Spa

Zen SPA Four Points by Sheraton

★ 4.7(711reviews, Google) · 42/100 · Istanbul, Kagithane

If you are staying in Sultanahmet, this is a trip out of the old city rather than a walk down the street. The spa is in Kağıthane, inside the Four Points by Sheraton, and works as a day spa. A Turkish bath, sauna, steam room and massage are on offer. Doors are open 11:00 to 23:00 seven days a week, so a late-afternoon or evening slot after sightseeing is possible. Google rates it 4.7 across 711 reviews. Prices, session lengths, the women's/men's arrangement and whether there is a pool are not confirmed, so ask before you go.

Miel Spa Kordon İstanbul — Day Spa, Istanbul
Google · Miel Spa Kordon İstanbul
#3 Day Spa

Miel Spa Kordon İstanbul

★ 4.7(103reviews, Google) · 39/100 · Istanbul, Seyrantepe

If you are staying around Sultanahmet, plan this one as a separate outing, because Miel Spa sits in Kağıthane, inside the social facility of the Kordon İstanbul Güzelbahçe housing complex. The facility combines a hammam, sauna and indoor pool with a pilates studio, a gym and three massage rooms, one of which is a VIP room. Google shows 4.7 from 103 reviews. It opens daily, from 09:00 on weekdays (09:30 on Friday) and from 10:00 at weekends, and closes at 22:00 every night. Bookings go through phone or WhatsApp, and the listing gives no prices or session lengths.

Google · Healife Wellness Club - Kağıthane
#4 Day Spa

Healife Wellness Club - Kağıthane

★ 4.7(109reviews, Google) · 33/100 · Seyrantepe, Kagithane

Healife Wellness Club sits in Kağıthane, inside the Kordon İstanbul complex on Cendere Street, so for a visitor based in Sultanahmet it is a trip across the city rather than a stop on the sightseeing loop. Google lists 4.7 from 109 reviews. The club opens at 07:00 on weekdays, at 09:00 on Saturday and Sunday, and closes at 22:00 except on Sunday, when it shuts at 17:00. Which facilities it has, what they cost and whether you need to book are not confirmed: the website could not be reached, so none of that is stated here. Treat it as something to ask about before you commit a half-day to getting there.

Google · Wave Wellness Spa & Turkish Hamam
#5 Hamam nearby · 2.1 km

Wave Wellness Spa & Turkish Hamam

★ 4.8(297reviews, Google) · 33/100 · Sisli

For a first-timer based in Sultanahmet, this is a hamam in Şişli, a district outside the old city, so it works as a separate outing rather than a stop between museums. Google shows 4.8 from 297 reviews. The listing says it is open around the clock every day, but that may be a data error, so confirm by phone. There is no website, so services, prices and whether men and women have separate sections are not stated anywhere I could check. Ask all of that before you set out.

Elysian Spa (ibis Styles Şişli) — Hamam, Sisli
Google · Elysian spa & Hamam İbis style hotel Şişli
#6 Hamam nearby · 2.1 km

Elysian Spa (ibis Styles Şişli)

★ 4.8(274reviews, Google) · 52/100 · Sisli

Elysian Spa & Hamam is in Şişli, a few kilometres north of the Sultanahmet–Sirkeci area, so it works best as a planned half-day outing rather than a quick stop between sights. The venue is open around the clock, every day, which makes it easy to fit around museum hours. Besides a hamam it has a sauna, steam room and jacuzzi, plus a long massage list that includes Thai stretching, hot stone and a bamboo-based signature treatment. Couples can use a double room. Google shows 4.8 from 274 reviews. Bookings are required, and no prices are published, so ask when you reserve.

Harmony Heaven Spa & Hamam — Hamam, Sisli
Google · Harmony Heaven Spa & Hamam
#7 Hamam nearby · 2.1 km

Harmony Heaven Spa & Hamam

★ 4.9(134reviews, Google) · 34/100 · Sisli

If you are based around Sultanahmet, this is a trip out of the old city: Harmony Heaven Spa & Hamam is on Palazoğlu Sokak in Şişli. Google shows 4.9 from 134 reviews, which is a strong score, though it says nothing about what is on offer. Google also lists the place as open around the clock every day, which is unusual for a hamam and has not been verified. The listing gives no services, prices or section details, and the business has no website. Treat it as a place to contact first rather than one to walk into on an impulse.

Sheraton Istanbul Levent — Hotel Spa, Levent
Google · Sheraton Istanbul Levent
#8 Hotel Spa nearby · 2.1 km

Sheraton Istanbul Levent

★ 4.5(1436reviews, Google) · 29/100 · Levent

If you are staying in Sultanahmet, this is not a spa you would stumble on: it is part of the Sheraton Istanbul Levent hotel, in the Levent business district on the European side, well away from the Old City. Google shows 4.5 stars from about 1,436 reviews. Beyond that, little is confirmed. No website could be found, so the treatments, any hammam or pool, prices and opening hours are all unverified. Treat it as a possible option only if your plans take you to Levent, and ask the hotel what is on offer before you go.

Rinova Spa & Massage — Massage Studio, Sisli
Google · Rinova Spa & Massage
#9 Massage Studio nearby · 2.1 km

Rinova Spa & Massage

★ 4.8(100reviews, Google) · 31/100 · Sisli

If your days in the Old City are packed with museums and mosques, this is a place for the other end of the day. Rinova Spa & Massage sits in Şişli, away from Sultanahmet, and lists itself as open around the clock, every day. Google gives it 4.8 from about 100 reviews. The listing does not say which massages are offered, what they cost or whether you must book, so a message or call before you go makes sense. It is a massage venue, not a traditional hammam.

NuSPA Torun Center — Massage Studio, Mecidiyekoy
Google · NuSPA Torun Center
#10 Massage Studio nearby · 2.2 km

NuSPA Torun Center

★ 4.4(134reviews, Google) · 27/100 · Mecidiyekoy, Fulya

For a first-time visitor based in Sultanahmet, NuSPA Torun Center is a trip out of the old city rather than a stop on the sightseeing loop. It is a massage venue on Akıncı Bayırı Sokak in Fulya, in Şişli, and the Mecidiyeköy and Esentepe areas are close by. Google shows 4.4 from 134 reviews. The hours are the same every day, 09:00 to 22:00. Our notes do not say which treatments, durations or prices it offers, or whether it has a hamam, sauna or pool, so check those before you go.

Şişli Masaj Salonu — Massage Studio, Bomonti
Google · Şişli Masaj Salonu
#11 Massage Studio nearby · 2.3 km

Şişli Masaj Salonu

★ 4.2(229reviews, Google) · 23/100 · Bomonti

If your days are built around Sultanahmet's museums and mosques, this massage salon sits well outside that circuit: it is on Koca Mansur Sokak in Şişli, near the Bomonti district. The venue opens at 09:00 and closes at 23:00 every day of the week, and Google shows a 4.2 rating from 229 reviews. What it actually offers is not known, because its services, treatment lengths and prices could not be read. Whether it has a hamam, sauna or pool is also unconfirmed, and so is whether you need to book. Call or check its website before making the trip.

Google · Eva Spa Gleam Bomonti Otel
#12 Day Spa nearby · 2.3 km

Eva Spa Gleam Bomonti Otel

★ 4.9(157reviews, Google) · 48/100 · Sisli, Bomonti

If your hotel is in Sultanahmet, this is a trip out of the old city. Eva Spa Gleam Bomonti sits inside a hotel on Huzur Sokak in Şişli, and it works as a day spa, so you don't need to be a hotel guest to ask about a visit. The facilities are a hammam, sauna, steam room and pool, with massage on the service list. Doors open at 10:00 daily, close at 23:00 Monday to Thursday and stay open to 01:00 Friday to Sunday. Google shows 4.9 from 157 reviews. Prices and session lengths are not published, and the website covers the whole Eva Spa brand rather than this branch alone.

8 venues on this list offer massage; some are massage-only, others combine it with a hamam. Durations and prices are listed with their date on each venue page.

Getting there

Kagithane is served by two metro lines: M7, which runs through Mecidiyeku, Caglayan and Kagithane, and M11 (Gayrettepe–Istanbul Airport), which also passes through the district. Gayrettepe is also on M2, as are Levent and Sisli-Mecidiyekoy, so M2 is the usual connection to the rest of the city. To reach the historic peninsula, take M2 south: Vezneciler-Istanbul University is the stop for the Beyazit and Grand Bazaar side, and Yenikapi connects to Marmaray for Sirkeci. From Sirkeci the T1 tram runs to Gulhane and Sultanahmet. The airport line M11 gives a direct metro link to Istanbul Airport (IST); for Sabiha Gokcen (SAW) the Havabus goes to Taksim. Allow a transfer or two for any trip from Kagithane to the old city.
