Tophane Spa, Hamam and Massage Guide

On this page 7 Hamam5 Massage Studio1 Day Spa

Tophane sits on the Bosphorus shore just below Galata, across the Golden Horn from the old peninsula. Its name comes from the Ottoman cannon foundry, Tophane-i Amire, and the neighbourhood still has the Nusretiye Mosque and the carved Tophane Fountain. Sinan's Kılıç Ali Paşa complex stands here too, with its mosque and a 16th-century bath. For a hamam-minded visitor this is the quieter side of the city. You can pair a bath in the Sultanahmet area with a second one over here, or spend a day on the Karaköy–Galata–Cihangir side. We list 12 places in and around Tophane: historic hamams, a massage studio and a day spa in a hotel. The nearby Çukurcuma Hamamı 1831 is among them. Prices and session formats are on each venue's own page, with the date they were recorded.

13 spas and hamams in Tophane that we reviewed and listed. 7 of them are traditional Turkish baths. Ranked by editor score; sponsored entries are clearly labelled and never affect the score. 1 of them sit just outside the area boundary and are shown with distance.

Foot Therapy Galata

★ 5.0(690reviews, Google) · 45/100 · Galata, Pera

Foot Therapy Galata sits right beside the Galata Tower, on Galata Kulesi Sokağı, so it suits a day that already takes you to the Beyoğlu side of the Golden Horn. The name points to foot massage, but the site could not be opened, so the services, session lengths and prices are unconfirmed. The hours are the same every day, 10:30 to 22:00, which leaves room for a late visit after museums close. Google shows a 5.0 score from 690 reviews, though we could not read what those reviews say. Treat it as a massage stop near the tower, not a hammam, and ask about details when you arrive or contact them.

Cihangir Masaj Therapy

★ 4.5(139reviews, Google) · 29/100 · Cihangir, Tophane

Massage studios in Tophane

10 venues on this list offer massage; some are massage-only, others combine it with a hamam. Durations and prices are listed with their date on each venue page.

Getting there

Tophane has its own stop on the T1 tram (Kabataş–Bağcılar), between Karaköy and Fındıklı. From Sultanahmet it is a direct ride: Gülhane, Sirkeci, Eminönü, Karaköy, then Tophane. The tram crosses the Galata Bridge on the way. Karaköy is one stop back and is also a ferry pier, so the Eminönü–Karaköy crossing is another option. If you are on the hill, take the M2 metro to Şişhane and walk down towards the shore; the slope is steep. Marmaray (Sirkeci) connects to the T1 from the Asian side. From the airports, Havaist from İST goes to Aksaray, Beyazıt or Sultanahmet, and Havabüs from SAW goes to Taksim, from where you can continue by metro or on foot.
