If your Sultanahmet days are full of museums and mosques, Sultan Hamam is the option on the other side of the Golden Horn: a Turkish bath on Recep Paşa Street in Taksim, Beyoğlu. The listing gives few details. It shows no website, only a WhatsApp contact, and the address, opening hours and rating are the main verified facts. The hours are the same every day, 10:00 to 23:00. Google shows a 4.9 rating from 269 reviews. Prices, treatments and facilities are not confirmed, so ask before you go.

Your first visit here

The listed information confirms only that this is a Turkish bath. Services, prices and whether there are separate women's, men's or mixed sections are not stated, so ask. Whether it is independent or inside a hotel, and whether you must book, is also not stated. Message them on WhatsApp before you go.

Fitting it into an Old City trip

Taksim is in Beyoğlu, across the Golden Horn from Sultanahmet. From the T1 tram you can ride to Kabataş or Eminönü, and the M2 metro stops at Vezneciler, Şişhane and Taksim. Because it is open until 23:00, it suits an evening after a day of sightseeing. A morning visit before the sights is also possible, since it opens at 10:00.

  • Open every day from 10:00 to 23:00, so it fits a morning or a late evening
