If you are staying around Sultanahmet, this is a hamam and massage address on the Sirkeci side of the Old City, at Hüdavendigar Street 24 in the Hocapaşa area. Gülhane and Cağaloğlu are within walking distance, and the Sirkeci tram and Marmaray stops are close by. The doors are open from 10:00 to 22:00 seven days a week, so you can fit it in on whichever day your museum plan leaves free. Google lists 4.8 stars from 538 reviews. What the listing does not show is which treatments are offered, what they cost, or how the sections are arranged, so plan on asking before you go.

Your first visit here

The venue is listed as a hamam with massage. The list of services, prices and extras such as scrub-and-foam or a couple's room is not given, so ask about each before you book. Whether men and women use separate sections, and whether the building is historic, is also not stated; ask when you call or drop in. Bring what you need for the day, and check what towels and toiletries are provided.

Fitting it into an Old City day

It sits in Hocapaşa, on the Sirkeci side, between Gülhane and Cağaloğlu. From Sultanahmet you can take the T1 tram two stops, via Gülhane to Sirkeci, or go on foot. Opening hours run from 10:00 to 22:00, so a late afternoon or evening slot after Topkapı Palace, Hagia Sophia or the Basilica Cistern works well. A morning visit before the sights is also possible, though you may be on your feet for most of the day afterwards.

What works well

  • Open every day from 10:00 to 22:00, so there is no closed day to work around
  • Close to the Sirkeci tram and Marmaray stops, and Gülhane and Cağaloğlu are within walking distance
  • Offers both hamam and massage, and holds a 4.8 rating on Google

Worth knowing first

  • No website, so services and prices must be confirmed with the venue directly
  • Section layout (separate or mixed) and whether booking is needed are not stated
  • Turkish bath
  • Massage
