Tuzla Hamam
Hamam İstanbul
Hamam İstanbul is a hamam in Tuzla, on the Asian side's far edge of the city, which makes it an outlier for a visitor based in Sultanahmet. Between 09:00 and midnight, seven days a week, the doors are open, so the hours are not the obstacle; the distance is. Details that matter to a first-timer, such as the sections, the treatments on offer, prices and whether the building is historic, are not published anywhere we could find. Google lists 4.2 from 715 reviews, but we could not read the comments themselves. If you want to go, treat it as a separate outing and phone first.
Your first time here
Services, prices and the layout of the sections are not stated, so ask before you go. Please check whether there are separate women's and men's sections or mixed use, and whether scrub, foam wash or massage is offered. Whether a booking is needed is also not stated. Opening hours are the one thing we know for certain.
Fitting it into an Old City trip
Tuzla is far from Sultanahmet, Gülhane and Sirkeci, and none of the tram or metro lines in our list reach it, so we cannot give a route. Plan it as its own half-day or evening trip rather than a break between museums. Since it stays open until midnight, a late-evening visit after a full day in the Old City is the most realistic slot.
What works well
- Open every day from 09:00 to midnight, with unusually late hours
- A Google score of 4.2 across 715 reviews suggests steady local use
- Sits beside a mosque on a main street, so it is easy to identify on arrival
Worth knowing first
- Far from Sultanahmet, so the trip alone takes a large part of a day
- No website: services, prices, sections and booking rules are unconfirmed
- Turkish bath
