If you're staying in Sultanahmet and want a first hamam, Centrum Spa and hamam is one of the options in the Hocapaşa, Cağaloğlu and Alemdar area of Fatih, on İbn-i Kemal Street. It opens at noon every day, so it suits an afternoon or evening after a morning of museums and mosques. It closes at 23:00, or 23:30 on Saturdays. Google shows 4.9 from 112 reviews. The listing has no service list, prices or section details, and the business has no website. Ask about those before you go.

Your first visit here

The listing only says this is a hamam. The services, prices and section layout are not stated, so ask before you go. It's also not stated whether it's a standalone business or part of a hotel, whether it's in a historic building, or whether you need to book. Ask what is included and what it costs before you pay.

Fitting it into an Old City day

It's in Hocapaşa, near Cağaloğlu and Alemdar. Of the transport stops we list, Sirkeci (T1 tram and Marmaray), Gülhane and Sultanahmet (both T1) are the nearest; check the walking distance on a map. Since it opens at 12:00, do your museums and mosques in the morning and come in the afternoon or evening. It stays open until 23:00, or 23:30 on Saturdays. The last admission time isn't stated.

What works well

  • In the Hocapaşa-Cağaloğlu-Alemdar area, within the Old City neighbourhoods near Sirkeci.

Worth knowing first

  • No website, so services and prices could not be verified.
  • It's unclear whether men and women have separate sections, and whether a reservation is required.
